Lonestar Race 3 houston / Porter

I raced again in the 19T electric and the .12 Nitro touring class.  I was very fast in the electric class, taking the TQ and leading the race early on until I brushed the wall and dropped to 3rd. I was able to pass Paul for the second place but could not catch Ronnie Pena who took the win. With 2nd places in 3 races, I take the second place in the series behind Paul.

In the nitro class, I could not get a good setup all day as we spent most of our time fixing Ophelie's car that just did not want to run.  I started in 6th place and jumped to 2nd place in the first corner before being hit in the back by a good friend who is also one of the best drivers in the series. I was back in 6th place and fighting an unstable car but just kept on racing and never stopped. Other drivers had flame out and car trouble so I came back to second place which is where I finished only a lap down on Chris Metheny.  With this second place, I win the Nitro series.

Ophelie was very fast in the first qualifier of the kid's class but the speed controller failed half way into the race. By the time we understood where the problem was we had missed the next two qualifiers.  Luckily, Skeet (Josh's grandpa) had a spare speed controller and she was able to take second place in the main event and the entire series.  Thank you Skeet.
